Architectural features of the East Central Community College campus became basic design elements for Communication Arts Company in developing the school’s identification. The simple lines of the College’s historic gateways, archways, and entries–which appear dimensional in the College mark–identify the school and represent its focus on open access, respect for tradition, and educational opportunity. The companion wordmark is a contemporary and energetic twist on a classic typestyle that speaks to the school’s relevance and commitment to the future.
Compact and linear wordmark signatures, supported by official colors, provide flexibility in layout and improved recognition for the college.
Support colors compliment official colors and provide graphic relief with consistency.
College stationery with faux watermark.
The development of the College’s first official seal was a companion design service provided by Communication Arts. The seal echoes the historic campus gateway, heralds traditional symbols of learning, and recognizes the six counties that fund the College.
In addition to designing ECCC’s identification, Communication Arts developed a basic graphic standards manual for staff to reference in maintaining the integrity of the College’s visual profile.
ECCC staff have begun implementing College identification elements in the environment.
